東京国立博物館、宮内庁書陵部を中心に調査を行った。東京国立博物館では約50面、宮内庁書陵部では約40面の古鏡に関して調査と写真撮影を行った。写真撮影はカラーポジフィルム、モノクロネガフィルムの中判、大判フィルムを用いた。そのほか従来、あまり撮影されることの無かった鈕孔の写真などもモノクロフィルムによって撮影を行った。加えて桜井市教育委員会、大宇陀町教育委員会、久保惣記念美術館、京都国立博物館に収蔵されているおよそ10面の古鏡の資料調査、写真撮影を断続的に同様の方法で行った。撮影に関してはプロの写真家に依頼して行ったために、カラーポジフィルムにおいても自然な発色が得られ、古鏡の面径、重要性に応じて中判フィルム、大判フィルムを使い分けて鮮明な画像資料を作成した。この点は従来の写真資料に比べて格段の資料価値を持つ所以である。そのほか、地名表の完成を目的に2例ほどの遺失資料を検索して、資料の充実をはかるとともに奈良県の古鏡関連文献の収集につとめた。その他にはここ1〜2年の間に出土した奈良県の出土古鏡資料の集成と研究を行った。研究成果の一部としては2本の論文を執筆し、発表している。一つは前期古墳から出土した銅鏡の歴史的意義を論じたものと、もう一つは銅鏡の鋳造技法を考察する上で見過ごされてきた鋳型の問題を論じたものである。
