平成7年度においては,当初の研究計画に基づき,まず,15世紀の低地地方の穀物流通政策についての刊行史料ならびに研究文献の補充的調査を行った。この調査を踏まえて,同時期の穀物流通に大きな影響を与えたヘントの穀物スターペルの成立およびその制度的整備過程を検討し,さらに,これまで収集していた未刊行史料に基づく穀物価格の変動についての日時データレベルでの分析を行った。これらの検討・分析により,これまでの研究史では,特権的組織として穀物流通における市場メカニズムの発達の阻害要因として捉えられていたヘントの穀物スターペルについて,中世における地域内での穀物流通に加えて地域外の穀物流入が恒常化する15世紀の段階においては,限定的な形ではあれ,その局面における市場メカニズムを促進した存在と考えられること,また,15世紀フランデレンにおける市場メカニズムは,地域内における量的均衡がもたらされる中世的穀物流通と地域を越えた価格均衡がもたらされる近代的穀物流通が併存する形態として考えられることを明らかにした。また,穀物スターペルの形成についても,14世紀から段階的に制度整備がなされるという直接的な発展過程としては捉えるべきではなく,むしろ,穀物流通におけるヘントを軸とするフランデレン諸都市とブルゴ-ニュ公家との対抗,補完関係,フランデレン諸都市間の相互関係の変化によって生ずる政治的情勢の変化の影響を受けながら,それぞれの時点での穀物流通の状況を反映した形で制度整備が図られていることを明らかにした。なお,科学研究補助費により,上記の研究に必要な,文献,ソフトウエア,ハードウエアの整備を行い,研究の一部を,研究業績に記載した英文の論文として今年度中に刊行する。
