项目摘要

東京証券取引所第一部上場企業(1,233社)を対象に、郵送による質問票調査を実施した。質問票の内容は、「情報技術の導入状況」「業務・組織変化」「成果・業績」であり、合計30項目の質問を行った。回答が得られた240社の結果をもとに、主に資本構成の観点から分析を行い以下のことが明らかとなった。1.自己資本比率の高い企業ほど、積極的に情報技術を導入している(ただし、業種により若干のばらつきがみられる)。2.情報技術の導入が進展しているほど、競争優位性、プロセスの迅速化が向上している。3.情報技術の導入が進展しているほど、企業組織の変化が生じている。具体的には、従来の階層型組織からプロジェクトチームを中心とするアドホクラシー型組織への変化がみられる。これらの調査結果は、自己資本(株主資本)比率の高い企業ほど、リスクの高い投資ができるというリスク・シェアリングの考え方の実証的な証拠になっている。また、バブル経済崩壊後の不況のなか、自己資本比率が高く財務体質が安定している企業は積極的に情報技術への投資を行い「成果・業績」を向上させているのに対し、そうでない企業は「成果・業績」が停滞しているという二極分化の傾向が生じていることを示している。
