Gorenstein sequenceの中でも、特にunimodalなGorenstein sequenceの特徴付けに関して考察を進めた。考察を進めていく中で、Weak Stanley propertyをもつGorenstein環のクラスに興味をもった。もちろん、このクラスはGorenstein環のクラスで一般的であり、このすべての環のHilbert functionはunimodalである。この環の具体的な構成として、P^nの点のLinkage理論を使った基本的な方法を見つけ、次の成果を得た。1.WSPをもつGorenstein環のHilbert functionの特徴付けに成功した。つまり、対称的でありかつ前半のsequenceの差分がO-sequenceであることで特徴づけられる(Proceedings of the A. M. S. 1995で発表)。2.Diesel氏の最近の結果の1つで、「codimension 3のGorenstein環のHilbert functionを固定したときの、可能なBetti numberをすべて求めた」がある。今回、P^2の点で、特にPure configurationと呼ばれる特別な点の配置をうまくとることにより、与えられたHilbert functionとBetti numberをもつGorenstein環が、WSPのクラスで構成することができた(別構成を与えた)(学会、第17回可換環論シンポジウムで発表)。今後の課題としては、まずWSPをもつ環の構造定理を与えることである。現在、条件付きではあるが、ある種のイデアルのfiltrationと関係していることがわかってきた(この辺りの話は、数理研の短期共同研究「次数付可換環のホモロジカルな性質の研究」で発表)。さらに、codimension4のnon-unimodalなGorensteinsequenceが存在するかどうかも解かなければならない問題の1つである。
