研究は、次の二つの柱で進めた。(1)論理的認識の実践性・実践力論理的認識の現れとして、直接認識性と間接認識性とを区別し、両者の相違を明らかした。自然科学などにおける直接認識に対して、文章理解・音声理解などにおける論理的認識による間接認識を積極的に位置づけ、その能力を育成し、実生活において活用する重要性を探究した。具体的には、科学的な読物・新聞・敬蒙書・百科辞典などによる情報理解を不確かなものとしておとしめて把握するのではなく、実生活上はむしろ有効範囲も広い認識方法として必要であると考えた。精度や信頼性の低さを弱点とせず、実生活的にはそれを前提として上で、成果の判断の方に比重が置かれるべきとした。⇒II.研究発表(2)論理的認識育成のための実験授業(授業研究)実践的授業研究の一つとして、説明的文書教材「魚の感覚」(小5)の実験授業を行った。一読総合法を用い、自然科学的な直接認識性と説明的文章の読みによる間接認識性との精度・信頼性及び汎用性などを児童がどの程度理解するかを検討するところに主な目的を置いた。授業一般としては、順調な運びではなかったが、5年生児童が認識の直接性・間接性の内容と有効性に高い関心を持っていたことが窺われた。今後集約し、授業展開・授業方法及び、学習の成果と問題点を明らかにする予定である。(3)研究全般について説明的文章の読みによる認識として間接的認識を積極的に位置づけ、その活用を図ることを打ち出し、その部分的な実験授業を行ったのが本研究の大きな成果である。情報化社会において、単なる情報処理力を養成するだけでは問題が大きく、情報吟味力・情報価値判断力を重点的に育成すべきことが見出された。これは国語教育上の大きな課題である。今後は、本研究では仮説的に扱った説明的文章の読みにおける論理的認識の発達を小学校から中学校に至る言語形成期について実験授業を積み重ね、あるいは多角的に実施して、明らかにし、実際の教育過程編成の信頼性の高い科学的基礎として提供する必要がある。
