History of the Manns and narrative art

近3年来对《曼氏史与叙事艺术》的研究，使曼氏家族活动的多样性得以清晰呈现。我们发现，日常事务、政治、社会问题和艺术运动的综合体塑造了他们的写作工作和行为，因此这一主题必须从不同的角度进行持续的研究。我们举几个例子。托马斯·曼最爱他的三女儿伊丽莎白。这种情感倾向对他的作品和日常生活都产生了很大的影响。托马斯·曼的长女艾丽卡·曼尽一切努力让美国人民相信纳提的恶行。但她的呼吁不是正确的报道，而是一种宣传，只要它有一个明确的目标，即美国应该走向反法西斯主义。这个事实告诉我们，她的存在确实是原始的，但与她的父亲相比是肤浅的。托马斯·曼继续写日记。他的政治思想并不总是适应新的情况。他的孩子们对形势的看法相当正确。但通过写日记，托马斯·曼保持着比政治行为更深刻、更有启发性的日常生活。托马斯·曼的哥哥海因里希·曼年轻时写了一部表现出印象派倾向的小说。印象主义的绘画在当时被市民所接受，欧洲的富裕家庭购买了这些作品，这些作品对当时的年轻作家产生了影响。因此，我们在家庭中找到了创造生活的基础，也就是艺术的享受。

Researches in "History of the Manns and narrative art" in the last 3 years make the manifold of the familys activities clear. We found that complex of everydays affairs, politics, social problem and artistic movement gave shape to their writing work and acts, so this theme must be continually investigated from various viewpoints.We cite several instances.1) Thomas Mann loved his third daughter Elisabeth above all. And this emotional tendency has great influences on his works and daily life.2) Erika Mann, first daughter of Thomas Mann, made every effort to persuade american people of Nati's evildoing. But her appeal was not correct report but s sort of propaganda, so long as it had a clear aim that USA should be led to the Anti-fascism. This fact shows us that her existence was indeed original, but superficial as compared with her father.3) Thomas Mann continued writing his diary. His political thought didn't always adapt itself to the new conditions. His children saw the situation rather correctly. But by writing diary Thomas Mann keeped a daily life which was more profound and suggestive than political acts.4) Heinrich Mann, elder brother of Thomas Mann, wrote a novel which showed a tendency of impressionism, when he was young. Pictures of impressionism were accepted by the citizen in those days, and European rich families bought such works, which had then influences on young writers. So in the family we find a base of creating life, that is to say, enjoyment of arts.
