In order to promote and stimulate the mechanistic studies of enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of physiologically important isoprenoids, we invited five eminent American researchers working actively in this field to exchange information with them. Based on the result of discussion, three pieces of joint-research have been started as follows :1) Studies on the active center of prenyltransferase by means of photoaffinity labeling Collaborator : G.D.Prestwich (Utah University)2) Studies on the geranylgeranoate receptor Collabortor : Y.Shidoji (Gifu University)3) Studies on enzymens involved in the biosynthesis of natural rubber Collaborator : Y.Tanaka (Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology)
