This research has been carried out for two years (from April 1998 to March 2000). The objective of this research is to develop a system which realize a high quality model form shape image by the Kansei method with agent function. The objective was achived by developing the following subsystems (a)-c and constructing the integrated system (d);(a) Development of subsystem for constructing rough modelA subsystem, which constructs the virtual clay model from a shape image with a data glove, a stereoscopic vision device, a force feed back device, and a workstation, was construct. And, a subsystem to construct rough computer model from a sketch was also developed.(b) Development of subsystem for constructing precise modelA subsystem, whch modifies the rough model and creates precise model by approximating a small area on the rough model with a quadric surface, was developed.c Development of subsystem for constructing complete modelA subsystem, which constructs the complete model by re-modifying the precise model with adjusting the shape according to the high-light lines(d) Development of integrated system to realize model form imageA system to construct a computer model from a shape image was developed by integrating the above mentioned subsystems and incorporating the agent functions.
