Study of wayfinding of people with impaired vision and the development of voice navigation system

为了满足社会对实现视力障碍者无障碍出行环境的要求，我们需要开发辅助定位信息收集过程的系统，并重建适合他们无障碍的设施。本研究的目的是为语音导航系统等通信的实际解决方案提供基本发现，并开发样本系统。我们进行了以下研究：1.评估各种适用于视力受损人士出行的技术。视力受损人群的空间表征分析。日本火车站无障碍出行环境现状研究。听觉地形图系统的开发。

In order to fulfill the social requirements for the realization of barrier-free traveling environments for people with impaired vision, we need to develop the system that assists the process of collecting the information of orientation as well as to reconstruct facilities fit for their accessibility. The purpose of this study is to provide basic findings for actual resolutions of the communication, such as voice navigation systems and develop the sample system.We conducted the studies as follows ;1. Evaluation of various adaptive technologies for traveling of people with impaired vision.2. Analysis of spatial representation of people with impaired vision.3. Research of the actual state of barrier-free traveling environments at railway stations in Japan.4. Development of the Auditory Map System.
