Effect of Chelating Substances on the Succession of Blue-Green Algae

Determination of Algal Growth Potential (AGP) and limiting substances in Lake Kasumigaura were carried out from April 1999 to November 2001 using algal assay procedure. AGPs of filtrates using Microcystis aeruginosa were less than 2 mg/L. The growth of Microcystis, Anabaena, Phormidium were stimulated by the addition of EDTA or EDTA and nitrate. Oscillatoria was able to grow by the both addition of phosphorus and nitrogen without EDTA. It seems that chelate substance concentration was very important for the blue-green algal succession. Natural chelate substances such as fumic and fulvic acids isolated from Lake Kasumigaura sediment mitigated the heavy metal toxicity for the growth of Microcystis aeruginosa.
1999年4月至2001年11月,采用藻类测定法对霞浦湖藻类生长潜力(AGP)和限制性物质进行了测定。利用铜绿微囊藻进行生物降解的AGPs均小于2 mg/L。EDTA或EDTA与硝酸盐的混合物对微囊藻、鱼腥藻、席藻的生长有促进作用。颤藻在不添加EDTA的情况下,能够通过添加磷和氮来生长。由此可见,螯合物浓度对蓝藻的演替起着重要的作用。从霞浦湖沉积物中分离得到的富马酸、富里酸等天然螯合物对铜绿微囊藻的生长具有一定的抑制作用。
