英文摘要
The excitability of the motoneuron pools of both the spastic side and normal side of hemiplegic patients was compared using a new method employing H-reflexes and M-responses, i.e., by determination of the ratio of the developmental slope of the H-reflex to that of the M-response(Hslp/Mslp). Also, a relationship was found between the recovery stages, as assessed by the Brunnstrom stage, which shows the degree of the spasticity after brain lesion and the motoneuron pool excitability of both spastic sides. Hslp/Mslp was found to have better predictive value than the conventional indicators of motoneuron pool excitability. Further, Hslp/Mslp also corresponded well to the Brunnstrom stage. These results suggest the superior usefulness of Hslp/Mslp for evaluation of the motoneuron pool excitability, which is a long-standing and still unclarified problem in the clinical field of rehabilitation.
