知覚、認知、推論(思考)の過程とはいかなる内的な表現と脳内リアル・ダイナミクス(スパイク・ダイナミクス)をもつのか?"意識下知覚"を切り口として、ダイナミクス・レベルからの問題の提示を第一段階としておこない、理論(モデル)的研究と心理実験およびシミュレーション実験への準備作業をおこなった。内的な認知の過程において、脳内における内部表現=セル・アセンブリーの動的な構築が必要である。この過程は多くの場合、非意識的である。非意識下の脳内過程が感覚レベルのみではなく、セマンティック・レベルから運動の実行まで働いているという実験的証拠がある(S.Dehaene)。非意識的系としての複数の文脈システム、つまり意識にのぼらない内的に統合された複数の"影の"セル・アセンブリーの脳内での同時的稼動を示唆する。このような考察は意識下システムに関してダイナミクス・レベルの問いを必然とする。とりわけ、裏アセンブリーの存在形態や"注意"の動的役割、"統合(バインディング)問題"など、従来の論争点に関してあたらしい視角を与える。多安定図形における知覚反転において、意識下の内的知覚イメージ(裏アセンブリー)はすでに統合されて存在するのか?あるいは、注意によって知覚反転時に統合されるのか?意識下過程において意味的処理がなされているとすれば、内的"統合イメージ"(バインディング)がすでに成立していなければならない。このことは他方で、競合する2つの(1つは意識上の、他方は意識下の)内的イメージを表現するセル・アセンブリーの同一領野での共存を許容する皮質ダイナミクスという力学系の観点からは非自明な問題の検討を必要とする。領野内・領野間のシンクロニー、および競合する2つの内的イメージ間のシンクロニー・相関の動的関係性の実験的検証など、統合とバインディングに関する未解決問題の解決の一つのつの鍵をあたえる可能性がある。
