英文摘要
The objectives of the project are the followings: 1) to compare the theoretical framework of disciplines actively analyzing the socio-cultural implications of the new reproductive technologies (NRTs) such as anthropology, medicine, law, bioethics, gender studies, 2) to obtain the field data regarding the socio-cultural reactions towards the NRTs in Italy, the United Kingdom, Finland, Denmark, France, Switzerland, the United States of America, Canada, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, 3) to formulate the socio-cultural implications of the NRTs on parenthood and/or family, and 4) to formulate preliminary the socio-cultural implications of the advanced medical technologies such as organ implantation and blood transfusion. The research findings are the followings:1) There are theoretical and topical features in each disciplines and that means in order to materialize a comprehensive study of the socio-cultural implications of the NRTs we need to organize a trans-disciplinary research. 2) Through the field research, it is clarified that Singapore, Korea and Japan have been just starting to legislate for/against putting the most-advanced NRTs intopractical use and that regulations and laws controlling the NRTs reflex the socio-cultural "tradition" of each country. 3) The NRTs have been changing not only the external structure of parenthood and/or family but also their internal structure. 4) The use of advanced medical technologies such as organ implantation or blood transfusion have brought about the fundamental change of our view of body and life. The details of research findings can be seen in the articles and books listed in the "References."
