(1)過去2年間の社会学的リスク研究の研完成果をまとめた、著書『リスク論のルーマン』(勁草書房、2003年7月)を刊行した。ここでは、環境リスクを主たるテーマに据えつつ、ルーマンの社会システム理論の有する「批判力」を、「ありそうになさの公理」を基軸として描き出し、「開かれた対話」の可能性と限界を明らかにした。また、これまで大きく取り上げられることのなかったルーマンの抗議運動論にも立ち入った検討を加え、60年代から一貫して見られるルーマンの抗議運動への(かなりの程度ポジティブな)基礎的視角を浮き彫りにしている。(2)また、こうした理論研究に基づいて、グリーン・ツーリズムの日独比較研究の最終年度となる今年度は、2004年2月に、ドイツ・バイエルン州の農家民宿ならびに農家レストランにヒアリングを実施した。個別的活動として捉えられがちなバイエルン州の農家民宿だが、本調査では地域の「マシーネンリング組織」(オーバーバイエリッシェ・ヴァルド地区)との関係に焦点をあてることによって、地域の中での農家民宿の位置づけを明らかにした。3年間の研究により、昨年度の旧東ドイツ地域におけるグリーン・ツーリズム調査をもふまえて、ドイツの「農家で休暇を」事業における東西ドイツ比較研究の足がかりを固めることができた。(3)最後に、宮城県田尻町・小野田町における過去3年間の研究成果もふまえて、地域環境保全活動に関する日独比較研究の研究レポートを現在、まとめている最中である。(成果については、本年夏頃に刊行予定である。)
