In this Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research, we made the best efforts to prepare a research report based on the accumulated research results, in order to arrange the these results for two years. First of all, we analyzed elaborately research trends of Ethnology and Anthropology in China, and at the same time, discussed the efforts from the researches in Europe, USA and Japan. Then, we investigated what is the characteristics of Ethnographies in Southwest of China. Until now, and continued to study the properties of the above-mentioned areas in China. On the nucleus of such fundamental researches, we pick up and arranged all the literatures related to Ethnography, such as related books thesis, diaries of trip, adventure, expedition records, local area history of Chinese documents, etc. In addition to related catalogs, based on the recognition that first of all, collection and arrangement were indispensable and important work, and therefore we spent vast time to prepare their aloging.Basic literatures of Ethnography, as we mention here in this research are mainly consisted of survey reports and scientific research, or diaries of trip, adventure, expedition records, records of personal experiences, photographs, etc, related to the tribes magazines published by Missionaries, Governmental people, Military officers and merchants from Europe and USA are regarded as the most important literatures and documents. In the research, purposed give a second and new books on Ethnology and aim at reconstruction. Therefore, classification of I, II, and III, was set up according to the contents closer to Ethnography, and rearranged literatures more than 2200. However, in this time, we consider to show the direction of future research having our basis on present research results that not only we prepare the report for the purpose of the arrangement of literatures, but also the way how Ethnography should bring our proper style.
