通常のラムゼーモデルでは、将来世代はいっさい現在世代に影響を及ぼすことはない。唯一、現在世代の将来世代に対するパターナリスティックな利他主義が世代間衡平をもたらす。次に、ラムゼーモデルの変種としての(準)hyperbolicな割引率をもつモデルでは、将来世代は現在世代の思うようには行動しない(現在世代の最適経路は時間不整合となることから、将来世代は現在世代の選択に間接的に影響を及ぼす。そこでは、ラムゼーモデルのパターナリスティックな利他主義に加えて、将来世代の現在世代に対する裏切りの可能性が、世代間の経路を形成する。本研究は、さらに将来世代の現在世代に対する影響の程度を強めた仮想的な世界を想定し、その世代間衡平経路を考察した。世代間重複モデルの枠組みで、老人は生まれたばかりの若年と交渉を行う。仮想的というのは、生まれたばかりの若年は、老人と交渉する能力も来期に老人となったときの交渉を予想する能力も有すると仮定しているためである。若年と老人の交渉の結果得られるナッシュ交渉解のうちで、サブゲーム完全性を満たすものを、本研究では、世代間衡平経路と呼ぶ。簡単な例題を通じて、このような世代間衡平経路は、個人の割引率よりも低い割引率と期間内で若年層に対して高いウエイトを与えるラムゼーモデルの解経路と一致することを示した。つまり、例題において世代間衡平経路は効率的であり、ある人々が期待してきたように、主観的割引率よりも低い社会的割引率が用いられる。現在、さらにより一般的な設定で、同様の結果が得られるかを現在検討している。
