项目摘要

「インド・中国・チベットの瞑想階梯の研究」と題したSHEN Weirong氏との共同研究は、具体的には9〜10世紀のチベット仏教ニンマ派の論師ヌプチェン・サンギェイェシェ(gNubs chen Sans rgyas ye ses)の著作である『禅定灯明論』(bSam gtan mig sgron)の読解を中心として、当時のチベットに伝わっていたインドの中観思想、中国の禅思想、その統合昇華としてのチベットの大ヨガやゾクチェン(大成就)思想を総合的に解明することを目的とする。『禅定灯明論』の中心的な章は、漸門派章、頓門派章、大ヨガ章、ゾクチェン(大成就)章という四章からなり、順次瞑想のレベルの低い段階からより高次の段階へ移る過程を示している。本プロジェクトの共同研究として、ほぼ週一回、定期的な研究会を行い、『禅定灯明論』の読解を継続してきた。得られた成果は、(1)『禅定灯明論』全体のコンピューター入力によるデータベースの作成、(2)『禅定灯明論』「漸門派」章のチベット語テクストの批判的校訂本初稿、(3)『禅定灯明論』「漸門派」章の英訳注初編、である。これらの成果は将来出版に耐えうる形に整備するための基礎段階は既に形成できたといえる。さらに、(2)(3)の仕事をより効果的に進める上で、テクスト中かなりの大きさを占める「夢占い」の部分のパラレルを『宝積経』の「浄居天子会第四」に同定出来たことが大きな役割を果たした。同経は残念ながらサンスクリットでは伝存しないが、チベット語訳と漢訳に保存されている。従って、この経についても『禅定灯明論』の研究会に於て『禅定灯明論』と並行して、(4)『説夢大乗経』のチベット語テクストの批判的校訂本、(5)『説夢大乗経』の英訳注、を作成してきた。『禅定灯明論』の割り注の欠落的で不可解な文章のほとんどをこの『説夢大乗経』の読みによって理解することが出来たのは大きな成果である。(4)(5)も推敲を重ねて将来出版を目指したい。
