项目摘要

今年度は特別研究員の最後の年としてこれまでの成果を形にすることに力を入れた。特に、科学基礎論学会に発表した"A Simple Nonmonotonic Logic as a Model of Belief Change"は、同学会の学会賞を受賞した。また、明治大学の石川教授との共著"Immunity to Error through Misidentification and The Bodily Illusion Experiment"(筆頭著者は水本)は世界的に権威ある学際的研究の雑誌Journal of Consciousness Studiesに掲載が決まった。前者は認識論的概念である情報と形而上学的概念である事実とを分析することで非単調論理として形式化した信念変化の理論を実際にプログラムとして実装化してみせたものであり、今後の人工知能研究への応用が期待される。後者は独自に進めてきた「心の部屋プロジェクト」の成果の哲学的含意をまとめたものであり、雑誌掲載後は内外からの反響が期待される。また、「事実とクオリア〜コネクショニズムと直接実在論」および「スワンプマン論法と物理主義」では、心の哲学における諸問題を特に形而上学的観点から論じ、独自の解答・議論を提示している。「ゲティアー、誤信念課題、理由の空間〜自然主義的認識論のある具体的プログラム」は題名の通り自然主義的認識論のある具体的研究を学際的リサーチプログラムとして提案している。また"Consciousness, Certainty, and Epistemic Operators"では認識論と心の哲学を様相論理のオペレータを使った形式的分析で繋げる試みである。
