项目摘要

本研究は、ユダヤ人哲学者エマニュエル・レヴィナスの哲学的著作と宗教的著作を交差的に読解することを通じて、「情動」を特権的な立脚点とする新たな「形而上学」の生成過程を明らかにすることを目的とする。ここでの探究では、レヴィナスのユダヤ的立場は、特殊主義に閉じたものではなく、むしろ西洋哲学における普遍的理念を、ユダヤ的伝統によっていっそうラディカルに変容させるものとして再解釈されることになる。具体的には、レヴィナスが形而上学史における哲学者たちを批判的に受容する際に、ユダヤ的伝統からいかなる諸形象が借用され、新たに再活用されているかについて個々のケースごとに検討し、さらにその思想史的ポテンシャルを引き出すことが目標となる。当該年度の研究は、次年度以降の基礎となる考察を行うことを念頭に、主として以下の二点を軸に展開された。①初期レヴィナスの哲学的著作が、ハイデガーの実存論的分析論の圧倒的な影響下にありながらも、「創造」や「選び」などのユダヤ的形象によって、その方法論を徹底化あるいは解体させているという両義性について検討した。この成果は日仏哲学会秋季大会にて発表した。②上記の研究を踏まえつつ、それをレヴィナスによる「ライシテ／脱宗教性」や「政教分離」の批判的受容という宗教学的な観点から再論した。とくにタルムードから借用された「ノアの末裔」という形象が、西欧文明における脱宗教的な普遍性へと「翻訳」される行程に着目することで、「普遍主義的特殊主義」と定式化されるレヴィナスの思索様式について検討した。この成果は京都大学文学研究科および脱構築研究会共催のシンポジウム「いま、国家の脱構築？--デリダ、レヴィナス、中上健次と国民国家」にて発表した。
