本研究の目的は、19世紀末から20世紀初頭におけるフランス女流詩人の作品について、異郷に対する憧憬の一典型ともいえるジャポニスムに焦点を絞って調査・分析を行い、その意義について検討するものであった。一般に、自己の内部への沈潜へとむかいがちな当該時期の男性作家の作品傾向に比して、女性作家のそれは、古代ギリシアやオリエントを志向するかたちで具体化される現実逃避や異郷憧憬の傾向が色濃く打ち出されている。当該時期における市民社会の爛熟と女性の行動半径の飛躍的な拡大は、オリエントにとどまらず、日本についても、もはや書物の上で出会うのみの伝説的な国ではありえず、じかに訪問してその文物をめで、それらの体験を女性ならではの行動力と想像(創造)力によって文学作品として加工していったのかについて考察を加えた。一般にこの時期の女性作家は、「遅れてきたロマン派」と形容されることが多いが、そのロマン主義的な傾向の中に異国趣味がどのような影を落としているのかについても現在作成した当該時期の女性作家の作品等のデータベースをもとに精査中である。今年度は以下の研究活動を行なった。(1)当該時期に出版された女流詩人の作品のデータベース化およびこれにもとづいたジャポニスムおよび異郷憧憬に関連すると思われる箇所の抽出と語彙集の作成。(2)当該時期の女流詩人に関する研究文献および新聞雑誌等の記事の収集・整理および文献リストの作成と一部データベース化。(3)勤務校付属図書館「へるん文庫」所蔵の文献のうち、ラフカディオ・ハーンがヨーロッパに向けて日本を紹介した記事の調査と収集および整理。(4)それ以外の日本紹介記事等の収集と整理。これらの活動の成果をもとに、現在当該時期における女流詩人の作品に現れる身体表現と植物の表現に着目して論考を順次執筆、発表を開始している。

The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze the works of female poets from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, and to discuss the significance of the works.
