effect of atypical antipsychotics on brain morphometry in schizophrenia

精神分裂症患者颞上回形态计量学异常与记忆障碍和认知功能障碍相关。此外，还使用优化的基于体素的形态计量学(VBM)测试了精神分裂症患者和正常人之间的形态计量学变化。结果表明，双侧额叶和颞上回、右侧海马区和右侧扣带回的皮质体积减小。根据精神分裂症患者的罗夏测验的认知分数分为两组。采用优化的VBM对两组精神分裂症患者的脑MRI进行分析。认知功能低下的患者与认知功能高的患者相比，左侧颞前上回的体积缩小。对常规抗精神病药物治疗组和非典型抗精神病药物治疗组进行初步优化的VBM分析。服用常规抗精神病药物的患者双侧扣带回皮质、右侧额叶中叶皮质和右侧颞叶上叶皮质体积减小。

Association of morphometric abnormalities were found with memory disturbances and cognitive impairment in superior temporal gyrus for patients with schizophrenia. In addition, the morphometric changes were also tested using optimized voxel-based Morphometry (VBM) between patients with schizophrenia and normal subjects. Findings suggested that cortical volumes were reduced in bilateral frontal area and superior temporal gyrus, and right hippocampus and right cingulate gyrus. Two groups were divided based on cognitive scores by Rorschach test for patients with schizophrenia. Brain MRI was analyzed using optimized VBM in the two schizophrenia groups. Patients with low cognitive function showed volume reduction in left anterior superior temporal gyrus compared to group with high cognitive function.Preliminary optimized VBM analysis was tested to compare between two treatment groups with conventional antipsychotics and atypical antipsychotics. Patients with conventional neuroleptics showed reduced cortical volumes in bilateral cingulated cortex, right middle frontal cortex and right superior temporal cortex.
