A Study of Relationship between the English Romantic Poetry and the ‘Romantic Medicine'

本研究主要在以下五个方面取得了预期的成果：(1)“浪漫主义医学”与当代文学、伦理学、哲学、宗教等研究领域的关系，主要从“浪漫主义医学”的诞生、成长和转变三个方面进行研究；(2)重新评价英国浪漫主义者对诗歌作品的心身创作，强调他们独特的“治疗”系统；(3)华兹华斯和柯勒律治合作诗歌创作的意义和意义，特别提到他们的“转变”；(4)华兹华斯对济慈的影响，他相信“忧郁的诗学”或“治愈的诗学”；(5)考察“浪漫主义医学”作为一种治疗身心疾病的手段的普遍价值/优点，以及其治疗效果/力量的暂时性缺陷/局限性，这源于英国浪漫主义者对短暂的审美经验的过度依赖。目前的研究使我写了一篇关于华兹华斯对“自然”的看法变化的文章，另一篇关于华兹华斯与济慈在“忧郁诗学”方面的关系的文章，以及六篇关于济慈的文章，重点是他的诗歌，如《忧郁颂》、《懒惰颂》和《美丽的圣母院》。目前的研究也导致了我在日本两个主要学术团体会议上的论文阅读——(1)日本英语文学协会第75届大会（2003年5月24日）；(2)日本英国文学学会九州分会第57届大会（2004年10月23日）。

The present research has achieved the expected results mainly in the following five respects :(1)the relationship between the ‘Romantic Medicine' and its contemporary fields of study such as literature, ethics, philosophy, and religion mainly in terms of the birth, growth, and transformation of the ‘Romantic Medicine' ;(2)a reevaluation of the English Romantics' psychosomatic production of poetic works with emphasis on their idiosyncratic system of ‘healing' ;(3)the meaning and significance of the cooperative poetic production of Wordsworth and Coleridge with special reference to their ‘conversion' ;(4)Wordsworth's influence on Keats as a poet who believes in ‘the poetics of melancholy' or ‘the poetics of healing' ; and(5)the examination both of the universal worth/merit of the ‘Romantic Medicine' as a means of healing psychosomatic disorders and of its defect/limitation found in the temporariness of its healing effect/power, which derives from the English Romantics' immoderate dependence on their ephemeral aesthetic experiences.The present research has led to my writing one essay on Wordsworth's changing view of ‘Nature' another essay on the relationship of Wordsworth with Keats in terms of their ‘poetics of melancholy,' and six essays on Keats focusing on his poems such as Ode on Melancholy, Ode on Indolence and La Belle Dame sans Merci.The present research has also led to my paper-readings for the meetings of the two major learned societies in Japan-(1)the 75th General Meeting of the English Literary Society of Japan (24 May 2003) ; (2)the 57th Kyushu Branch General Meeting of the English Literary Society of Japan (23 October 2004).
