Studies on the political history of the disintegration of the USSR

本研究的最初目的是从历史的角度来理解苏联的解体。在收集了大量的新材料后，我们确定了导致最终结果的政治过程在不同的共和国之间是非常不同的。我们以民族和语言政策为重点分析了这一复杂的过程。作为案例研究的对象，我们选择了爱沙尼亚、摩尔多瓦、乌克兰和哈萨克斯坦。通过对各共和国语言法讨论过程的细致分析，可以更深入地了解联邦国家是如何解体的。这一发现将极大地丰富我们对前苏联及其后果的看法。

The original aim of this study was to understand the disintegration of the USSR from a historical viewpoint. Having collected vast amount of new materials, we have established that the political process that led to the end result was very much heterogeneous from republic to republic. We have analyzed this complex process with great stress of ethnic and language policy. As object of case study, we have chosen Estonia, Moldova, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. The process of the language law discussion in each republic was closely analyzed, and we could get a deeper understanding on how the federated state was disintegrated. This finding will greatly enrich our view on the former USSR and its aftermath.
