平成15年度は、外集団敵対行動の連鎖(集団間における報復の連鎖)をもたらすマイクロ過程の外集団一体視に関する実験研究と、外集団一体視の成立基盤と考えられる集団内制裁行動に関する実験研究とコンピュータ・シミュレーション研究を行った。1)ポジティブ感情における外集団一体視に関する実験研究平成14年度までの研究からは、外集団成員に対する否定的感情は外集団一体視を引き起こし、その外集団のほかの成員にまで敵対行動を向けさせることが明らかにされている。本研究ではさらに、外集団成員への否定的感情と同様に肯定的感情も外集団一体視を引き起こすかどうかを検討した。実験では、14年度に開発した鎖状独裁者ゲームを用いた。実験の結果、外集団のある成員に厚遇された実験参加者は、その外集団に属する別の成員を厚遇する傾向が認められ、外集団一体視の存在が確認された。2)集団内制裁傾向の規程因に関する実験研究外集団一体視にはどのような適応的機能があるのか。ここでは、「外集団一体視が、その外集団内部における制裁(報償)を促進させる」という仮説をたて、その妥当性を場面想定法実験によって検討した。実験では、「ある集団の成員として一体視される状況では、そうでない状況より、内集団の逸脱者に対する否定的感情が喚起される」という実験仮説を検証した。しかし仮説は支持されなかった。3)集団内制裁行為の進化に関するコンピュータ・シミュレーション研究集団内制裁行為がどのような状況で進化するのかを検討するため、進化的シミュレーションを実施した。その結果、集団内制裁行動における「フリーライダー問題」が克服されるのは、集団成員の逸脱にともなう不利益が集団成員全体へ波及する場合であることが示唆された。外集団一体視には、このような波及作用をもたらす機能があると考えられる。
