项目摘要

本研究の目的は,日英語における名詞化補文の特性を意味的・機能的視座から比較・対照しながら、両言語の情報構造と伝達機能の個別性と普遍性を明らかにすることである。研究最終年度の本年度はこれまでの実証的な研究に基づいて、日英語における名詞化補文が最近の文法理論の枠組みの中でどのように位置付けられるかについて検討した。日本語の名詞化補文「の」節を含む「のだ」文と、対応する英語のIt is that構文,It is小節構文とを比較しながら、知覚や認識の対象を言語化プロセスの共通性と相違を原理的に明らかにした。さらに、that補文を伴い談話で頻用されるtake it that節構文について分析し、take it that節構文は話し手がある情報がすでに定まっていると推定し、その情報を認定することを積極的に表現すること、話し手が慎重に相手に事情や実情を確認することが求められる談話などでその機能を発揮することを実証的に論じた。その成果は、英語語法文法学会誌『英語語法文法研究』に発表した。さらに、実際の談話や発話場面を分析し、日英語の名詞化補文の生起と語用論的要請の関係を論じた点も本研究の特徴のひとつである。本研究で得られた言語学的知見が英語教育、日本語教育でどのような教育的意義をもつのかについても明らかにした。
