项目摘要

今年度は最終年度であり、これまでの研究をさらに深化させつつも総合することを目指してきた。第1に、社会運動の発生や行為形態に関する数理解析については、政治的機会構造の下での、運動体と政治体との相互作用のゲーム理論的モデルをさらに改良した。その結果、社会運動の制度化という社会運動研究で近年注目されている現象のメカニズムを解明することに、このモデルが寄与できることが明らかとなった。また、モデルの改良により実証研究との接合もスムーズになった。第2に、社会運動のイベント・データの作成を行った。前述の数理解析の成果をふまえて、戦後日本における社会運動の制度化を検証できるかたちへとデータを拡充した。データ分析からは、日本においても1980年代以降、社会運動がラディカルな形態から穏健・制度的な形態へと移行していることが明らかとなった。そして、このような社会運動の制度化は、数理解析から示唆されるように、政治的機会構造(政治体と支持基盤との関係)の変化が影響している。イベント分析についてはさらに、イッシューリレーション・アプローチという新たな分析手法を開発した。これは別の側面から社会運動の制度化という現象を捉える試みである。以上の数理解析とそれに基づくイベント分析については、日本社会学会などで成果を報告した。第3に、イラク戦争反対デモ参加者の質問紙調査データの分析を行った。若くて経験の浅い個人単位の参加者というこの運動を特徴づける人々と、これまでも運動に参加してきた人々を比較分析することで、現代における社会運動の特徴を検討した。これについては、『社会学年報』誌と『社会学研究』誌で成果を公表した。今後は本研究課題で追究した戦後日本の社会運動のダイナミクスに関する知見を活かしつつ、この調査結果で得られた現代の社会運動像をより深く考察することを目指していく。以上のように、本研究課題については一応の成果をあげることができたものと思われる。
