中国西南部に分布する少数民族諸言語について,動詞に表示される人称に関わる現象を中心に,現地調査を中心とした資料収集・整理を行い,記述・分析を進めた。現地調査は8月と3月の2度にわたり,中国四川省においておこなった。主として甘孜チベット族自治州道孚県において,川西走廊諸語の1つであるダパ語(ヂャバ語)の語彙・例文の音声資料を収集したほか,多言語が混在して使用される現地の状況を観察した。成都・西南民族大学において研究討議および資料収集もおこなった。現地調査で得た音声資料は,これまでの研究で収集した音声資料とともにCD-Rに収録し,他の研究者にも提供可能な形にした。また,音韻論的分析を加え,現在,ダパ語音韻論に関する論文を執筆中である。これらの資料を分析した結果,この地域の言語において一律に人称等の「一致」と考えられてきた現象が,言語ごとにかなり異なった状況を示すことが解明できた。特にダパ語においては,実際は話者が情報に対する親疎などの態度を表すモダリティの一種「証拠性」に近い性格を持つものであることが分かった。また,その特徴には,この地域の上位言語であるチベット語の影響が色濃く表れている。以上の研究結果をまとめ,チベット=ビルマ言語学研究会第1回会合(12月21日・京都大学羽田記念館)において「ダパ語(川西走廊諸語)における2つの未完了助動詞について-agreementかevidentialityか-」というタイトルで研究発表をおこなった。また,論文を『京都大学言語学研究』第23号に投稿予定である。また,この地域の諸言語と長い歴史の中で相互に密接な関わりを持ってきたと考えられるチベット語についても,その歴史的変遷を中心として研究を進めた。その成果をまとめ,「三科研合同研究会-ユーラシアの言語と文献-」(3月21日・京都大学羽田記念館)において研究発表をおこなった。
