项目摘要

本研究では、非自然主義的な心の哲学にコミットし、志向性を示す心的状態、特に命題的態度の存在が位置づけられるべき、非自然主義的な世界のあり方を「合理性」という観点から探究することを目的としている。今年度は、そもそも合理性とは何かを明らかにする一つの試みとして、自己知と合理性の関係について考察した(ここで言う「自己知」とは、自分の心的状態についての知識を意味する)。その結果、次のような成果を得た。自分の心についての認識(以下「自己認識」と省略)には、他人の心についての認識(以下「他者認識」と省略)にはない次のような三つの特徴がある。まず自己認識は、証拠に基づく推論を経ずに直接成立する。また自己認識は、以上のように証拠に基づいていないにもかかわらず、通常は、他者認識にはない正しさの権威すなわち「一人称権威(first-person authority)」が認められる。さらに心的状態は、通常、「自己告知的(self-intimating)」であると考えられる。つまり、自己認識が得られたときにはその自己認識は正しいというだけでなく、ある心的状態にあれば主体はそれを正しく自己認識できると考えられる。自己知は、伝統的に、特殊な知覚的知識であるがゆえに以上のような特徴を持つと説明されてきた。しかし、知覚的知識を自己知のモデルとしてしまうと、むしろ、自己認識の一人称権威や自己告知性が説明できなくなってしまうと考えられる。自己知はそのような特殊な知覚的知識として説明されるべきではなく、むしろ、合理性との本質的関係によって説明されるべきである。つまり、主体がそもそも心を持つためには合理的主体でなければならず、そして、合理的主体であるためには以上のような特徴を持つ自己知が成立する主体でなければならない。それゆえ、心を持つ主体には以上のような特徴を持つ自己知が成立するのである。

This study is about the philosophy of non-naturalistic mind, the state of mind, the attitude of special proposition, the position of existence, the direction of non-naturalistic world, the rationality, the point of inquiry, and the purpose.
