项目摘要

今年度は三年間の研究の総括として、過去二年間の研究をまとめて4本の論文として発表し、また3本の論文を投稿した。また、本年度は以下の研究を行った。(1)南アフリカのカラハリにおいて、野生ミーアキャットの観察を行なった。優位オスと劣位オス間の繁殖をめぐる葛藤が社会行動に与える影響を、優位オスの個体追跡によって調べた。観察の結果、優位オスは、息子に対してよりも、非血縁関係にあるオスや兄弟個体に対して、高頻度で攻撃行動を行なっていた。これらの結果は、繁殖をめぐる葛藤がオス間の社会交渉に反映されていることを示している。(2)霊長類に関する研究では、複雄複雌群を形成する種を対象に、オス間の繁殖行動のパターンを総括した。その結果、群れ内のオス数が多いほど、高順位オスが繁殖機会を独占する割合が減少していた。この結果は、繁殖の偏りモデルにおけるtug-of-war modelを支持するものであり、また行動生態学において繁殖の偏りを種間比較によって検証した初めての研究である。(3)齧歯目のハダカデバネズミを対象に、協力行動、真社会性の進化、個体間コミュニケーションに関する予備的な観察を行った。(4)飼育チンパンジーを対象に、9頭のオスから群れを形成する際、唾液から非侵襲的に計測して、内分泌データと社会行動の関連を調べた。とくに個体間順位関係とコルチゾール値、またはテストステロン値との関連を調べ、チャレンジ仮説を検証した。(5)幼児の社会行動が社会関係に与える影響について、反社会的行動と向社会行動を指標として行動観察を行った。また、幼児の葛藤解決行動、とくに仲直り行動と慰め行動に関して、論文にまとめ発表した。
