A Study of Social Work Assessment and Planning from Theoretical and Practical Viewpoint

本研究旨在从理论与实务的角度，探讨社会工作评估与规划的关系与特性。我们试图通过对社会工作六个领域的评估和规划进行研究来达到这一目的。本研究以一位老人、一位儿童、一位家庭、一位住院服务对象、一位肢体残障人士、一位智障人士、一位精神病患为研究对象，探讨社会工作者因应服务对象的需求，改变弹性评估项目的情形。因此，除了性别、年龄、职业等基本因素外，我们没有发现六个领域之间的共同评估项目，在规划方面，我们三年来都没有得到很好的结果。然而，在一个从评估到规划的过程中，我们发现了许多超越六个领域差异的共同点。例如，社会工作者集中在一个客户的独立性（控制点），并考虑如何充分利用他的独立性，在评估和规划过程。此外，评估表的使用方法取决于社会工作者的能力。通过三年来许多研究人员和实践者的合作，可以得出评估和规划的这些特征意味着社会工作的价值。

The purpose of this study was to research relationship and characteristics of assessment and planning in social work from theoretical and practical viewpoint. We tried to attain this purpose by investigating assessment and planning in six fields of social work. The fields include of social work with an elderly, children and families, a client in the hospital, a physically handicapped, a mentally retarded and a mental patient.As a result, we came to the conclusion that social workers changed flexibility assessment items depending on client's needs. For that, we didn't find common assessment items among six fields except for fundamental elements which are sex, age, job and so on. In regard to planning, we weren't able to get good results for three years. However, we found many common elements beyond difference of six fields in a process that a client and a social worker work together from assessment to planning. For example, social workers focused on a client's independence (locus of control) and considered how to make the best of his independence in assessment and planning process. In addition, a way of using assessment sheets depended on social workers competency.It follows from what has been said that these characteristics of assessment and planning mean value of social work by collaborating many researchers and practitioners for three years.
