项目摘要

今年度の主要な研究成果は、プラトン後期思想における問答法について新しい解釈を提示したことである。私はもともとこの研究を、対話篇『ピレボス』の冒頭における方法論についての記述(15b-17a5)の理解を目的として始めたが、諸論文の検討の後に、従来の解釈はプラトンの方法論についてのある先入見にもとづいてこの箇所を解釈していることに気づいた。それは、問答法の対象はイデアであり、問答法はイデアの相互関係を考察することによって進められるというものである。そして、F.M.CornfordのPlato's Theory of Knowledge(1935,170-72)などを見れば分かるように、この先入見は対話篇『パイドロス』における問答法の記述に由来している部分が大きい。そこで、私はまず『パイドロス』における問答法の記述(265c5-266c1)を再検討し、従来の解釈の先入見がそこに根拠を持たないことを確かめた上でそれを論文に纏め、続いて『ピレボス』における問答法の新しい解釈を別の論文(関西哲学会年報アルケー15号に掲載予定)に纏めた。『パイドロス』については、イデア相互の関係はこの箇所に関係なく、むしろここでの方法はソクラテスのスピーチがもとづいている話し方の技術(定義、似ているもののあいだの段階的な移行)であることを論じた。また、従来の『ピレボス』解釈では、15a1-c3はプラトンのイデア論についての深刻な問題であり、その後にこの問題とは関係のない若者についての記述が挟まれた後で、16b4-17a5で提示される問答法がその深刻な問題を解決していると考えられていた。それに対して、私は問答法の対象は事物に内在する「相」であって、イデアではなく、15a1-c3はそれをイデアとして扱う場合、その後に続く若者の記述はそれを名辞として扱う場合という、二つの誤った一と多へのアプローチを示していると論じた。この見解はプラトン後期の問答法の文脈に現れる「相」(idea, eidos)が「イデア」ではないと主張する点で、従来の解釈とは際だった対照をなしている。

This year's main research results are: the late thinking, the question-and-answer method, the new solution, the prompt. The first part of this paper is the discussion of the methodology of the topic, and the second part of this paper is the discussion of the topic.
