本年度は二つの研究を行った。ひとつ目は、昨年度に行ったプラトンの対話篇『パイドン』200b1-102a10における「形相原因説」の意味と役割の研究に仕上げを施したことであり、それを論文「プラトン『パイドン』における形相原因説」を『哲學研究』608号に発表した。従来学者たちは、アリストテレスの報告に依拠して、プラトンは「超越的イデア論」を発案したと考え、ここでイデアが原因として提示されると理解してきた。しかし彼らは二つの陣営に分かれ、互いに深刻な諸問題を指摘し、それらを解決できないでいる。私はプラトンのテクストに立ち戻り、「形相」は①それ自体でも、②諸事物のうちにも存在し、ここで原因とされるのは①と②の両方を含む「形相」であることを論証した。この論文は対話篇『パイドン』に関して、プラトンの形而上学説をイデア論ではなく、真実在説として解釈すべきことを論証する試みである。本年度はこの論文に関して国内の研究者と意見交換も行った。二つ目は、対話篇『クラテュロス』（以下Cra.）における「名前制定術の手続き」（424a7-425b5）の研究を行った。この研究は、プラトンの「総合と分割の方法」の研究の一部である。従来、多くの学者たちは、総合と分割の方法とは超越的イデアの相互関係を調べる方法であると理解してきた。それに対して私は、これまでの研究から、この方法を②諸事物のうちに存在する形相の研究を通じて、最終的に①それ自体で存在する形相（＝真実在）を把握するための方法として解釈すべきだと考えている。総合と分割の方法が最初に適用されるのはCra.の該当箇所であるが、この箇所はプラトン形而上学の研究では無視されがちだった。私は、この箇所を『パイドロス』における総合と分割の方法の適用箇所と比較することで、従来の解釈では理解されていなかった「名前制定術の手続き」の詳細が明らかになることを究明した。
