今年度は以下の3つのテーマについて研究をすすめた。1.害虫をめぐる自然観近代日本における害虫をめぐる自然観の変容について分析し、『トンボと自然観』(京都大学学術出版会)の一部として出版した。近世以前の日本においては「害虫」という用語もなく、害虫を駆除するという発想も持たないものが少なくなかった。だが19世紀末以降、農事試験場や帝国大学などで応用昆虫学の研究体制が整備されていくにつれて、害虫を支配可能とみなす自然観が普及していく。ここで重要な役割を果たしたのが、私立昆虫研究所を設立した名和靖である。本稿では名和昆虫博物館所蔵の資料を用いて、19世紀末から20世紀半ばにかけての害虫をめぐる自然観の変容を明らかにし、科学史・環境思想史的な考察をおこなった。2.日本における進化論日本における進化論の導入をあつかった先行研究について調査し、『生物科学』誌に寄稿した。これまで日本における進化論は、さまざまな「抵抗」によって正しい「受容」が妨げられたと理解されてきた。明治期における進化論は「歪曲」されて導入されたため、社会進化論に偏ってしまった。最近の研究では皇国史観からの「抵抗」も存在したことが指摘されている。さらに戦後のネオ・ダーウィニズム受容も、ルイセンコ理論や今西進化論による「抵抗」を受けたとされている。それに対して本研究では、従来の歴史理解は「受容」と「抵抗」のみに注目しすぎていることを批判し、同時代の文脈を踏まえた歴史叙述が必要であることを指摘した。3.衛生昆虫学の成立過程日本における衛生昆虫学の成立過程について資料収集・研究をすすめた。その結果、植民地統治と衛生政策の関係、医学研究において動物学者・昆虫学者が果たした役割、戦時マラリア研究が生物学・医学に与えた影響などについて明らかにされた。本研究の成果は来年度中に学会報告・論文として発表される予定である。

This year, the following three topics were discussed. 1. Insect Pests and Nature in Modern Japan Insect Pests and Nature in Modern Japan Insect Pests and Nature in Modern Japan In modern Japan, the term "pest" is used to describe the insect pest. Since the end of the 19th century, the research system of applied entomology in agricultural test fields and imperial universities has been developed, and the control of pests and natural diseases has been popularized. A private entomological institute was established. This manuscript examines the use of data from the Museum of Entomology, the late 19th century to the mid-20th century, the evolution of nature, the history of science, and the history of environmental thought. 2. Japan Evolution Theory Japan Evolution Theory Introduction and Research, Journal of Biological Sciences This is the first time that evolution has been discussed. Meiji period evolution theory is "distorted" and introduced, social evolution theory is biased. Recent studies have shown that there is no "resistance" in the history of the empire. The theory of evolution is based on the theory of "resistance." This study is based on the historical understanding of tolerance and resistance. 3. History of Sanitary Entomology History of Sanitary Entomology The results, the relationship between plant management and health policy, medical research, zoologists, entomologists, research, biology, medicine, and influence The results of this research are expected to be published in the annual report of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
