项目摘要

三年間の研究を通じて、WEB上のインターフェイスデザインの評価手法の有効性を確認するために、従来の視覚デザインの解析研究と比較することで、その有効性について検討した。日常的に使用される語句の中で、音声として再現することが自然で、直接的に具象物を想起しない言葉として、擬態語を調査項目として選択した。そしてそれらの語感と、音声イメージに適合する書体と、音声イメージからどのような印象が与えられるのかを形容詞群から選択するよう指示を行い、紙面・Webでの調査を実施した。その結果、濁音が含まれる擬態語、半濁音が含まれる擬態語、基本の文字構造は共通で、清音・濁音・半濁音によって区別される擬態語の書体選択、形容詞の選択には、両調査の形式とも同一の傾向が見られる。特定の書体・形容詞の選択傾向がある擬態語の傾向についても同様である。以上の結果から文字のイメージ(視覚・音声イメージ)の影響を調査する上で、WEBを用いたイメージ調査の一定の有効性を確認した。そして文字の持つ視覚的なイメージと、その音声に起因するイメージという本来不可分な関連を明らかにした。また成果を用いて、景観実験用コンテンツを制作し、比較調査を実施した。画像の撮影の高さによる影響が推察されたため、複数の調査対象地域の画像を、カメラ固定の水平を保持しつつ(三脚使用)、レンズ中心が「1.5m」「1.2m」の二つの高さから、同一位置から同一対象へアングルなどに変化がないよう撮影し、Webでの調査を実施した。その結果、対象地域の空間体験の有無の、画像の選択への影響を確認できた。インターフェイスデザインの機能向上のためには、文字やアイコンの認知速度や、表現の多様性といった詳細毎の検討・改良といった視点だけではなく、より統合化された概念として、人の持つ認知機構に親和した、形象伝達の目的化が重要な意味を持つ。これらの関連について実験によって、一定の法則性が明らかになった。それらの技術的応用として「インタラクションデザイン機器」のデザイン・技術開発を行い、学会での実演を含めた発表を行った。
