本年度の研究の概要前年度は先行研究についての整理を進めていくことで、「移民システム」論についての疑問、あるいは限界を把握し、その中で本研究をどのような位置づけとしたいのか、という本研究の立場について考察を進めた。先行研究及びこれまでの蓄積された調査データやそれを補足する2次的データをふまえて「移民システム論」という理論枠組みに注目し、この理論をもとに移動経路をマクロな視点から分析することを試みた。この前年度からの考察のもとに、本年度は博士論文として研究成果をまとめる作業を行った。また、その作業を進めていくのと並行して、前年度までの考察を検討することにより新たな課題の発見と、その解決に努めた。主な課題点となったのは、次のようなものである。「移民システム」を用いることの重要性はゆるがないものの、「結婚」という社会的行為がどのようなツールとしてシステム上に存在してくるのか、という点があいまいになっていることである。こと日本では「結婚」という行為に様々な社会的意味や機能が付随されており、結婚が国籍や居住の許可のような制度において特別な機能を果たしている。加えて親族関係が社会資本として重要な役割を持っている移民の文化における「結婚」の持つ意味を踏まえ、考察対象として再度重要視すべきとの考えに至り、これまでの研究を修正し、「結婚」をどのように扱うべきかを考察した。したがって本年度は、過去の研究成果をまとめるとともに修正を加えていく過程となったため、予想以上に時間を費やすこととなった。近日中の脱稿を目指し執筆中である。
