项目摘要

(1)2006年11月にハワイ・ホノルルで開催されたThe Society for Ethnomusicology(SEM)51th Annual Conferenceにおいて、Phantom Music School : Japanese Colonialism and Music Education in Koreaというタイトルで研究発表を行なった。植民地期朝鮮では1920年代から40年代初めにかけて断続的に官立音楽学校設置を模索する動きがあった。「文化政治」で活況を呈してきた朝鮮の音楽界を背景に、官立音楽学校の設置の機運が、朝鮮総督府、在朝日本人音楽家の間で高まり、1930年代後半にはかなり現実味を帯びた構想となっていったが、実現には至らなかった。発端から挫折に至る構想の過程と実態、そしてこの動きに対する朝鮮人音楽家らの反応を明らかにした。(2)『北東アジア文化研究』第24号(2006年10月)に、論文「京城師範学校における音楽教育(I)-1925年〜1935年を中心に-」を発表した。植民地期朝鮮の教員養成システムの頂点にあった京城師範学校は、音楽教育においてもその中心的な役割を担っていた。この論文では、京城師範学校で行なわれていた音楽教育について、カリキュラム、音楽担当教員、学生の経歴や去就から、その実態と特色を明らかにするとともに、植民地期の朝鮮、特に京城(現在のソウル、日本による植民地期の呼称は「京城」)の音楽界にどのような機能をもっていたかを明らかにした。
