This study clarified how was the correlation of letters, characters and style in Japanese history.On the "Kana"characters;In the priod of only use of Chinese characters, "Kana" for phonetic use of Kanji characters functioned as describe some phonetic element of Japanese in Chinese sentens. It was thought that. "Kana" in Kojiki,Nihonsyoki, Manyoshu and in Shosoin-monjo,mokan, existed separately so far.But they have common base in "Kana"use.In particular,writing of poem and writing of private letters,they have common base for the "Kana"of Japanese characters from "Kana' for phonetic use of Kanji characters.On the style of Japanese writing; In the priod of Heian and Kamakura,It was established the style as mixture sentence of Japanese and Chinese,Wakannkonkoubun (和漢混淆文) . , and it could transform writing form;hiragana,katakana,kanji,bitween three forms. "Sanpoe (三宝絵) "have three texts,hiragana,kanji and katakana,kanji only,and "Heike-monogatari (平家物語) " have several texts in same three method, hiragana,kanji and katakana,kanji only.I conpared three texts of "Sanpoe (三宝絵) ",and indicated that hiragana-text inclde some elements of kanbunkundoku (漢文訓読) ,but they are different from elements of kanbunkundoku that kanji-katakana text have. And a opposite case, kanji-katakana text haveh some elements of wabun (和文) in the same.That is to say,the transformation of writing form corsed the change of style.
