第1に,電気通信技術の形成史に関する調査を継続した.本来であれば本年度は,占領下でのマイクロ波技術開発に関する調査,とりわけその時期における「自主技術」開発をめぐる動向について,ある当事者の方に調査する計画であったが,その方が逝去されたためそれはかなわなかった.しかしその時期に関する資料収集と調査を行い,得られた知見を整理しているところである.とりわけ,伝送方式と装置をめぐる技術選択プロセスに重点を置いて,調査を行った.それに加えて,装置の「固体化」が早い時期になされたことの背景についても資料収集を行ったものである.第2に,電気通信技術形成における,開発体制の日本的特徴を把握するための調査を行った.日本における開発体制の一特徴は,電電公社の電気通信研究所が研究開発拠点として非常に重要であったと言うことである.このことを裏付けるために,予算額の規模や,民間企業との問の技術者の移動などに関する調査を行った.この研究を国際比較に展開すべく,リヨン大学のChristian Le Bas氏との共同研究を計画しているところである.第3に,後発工業化論の一環として,アジアにおける技術形成の研究も行った.その際,特許データを用いているが,その利用方法に確実な基礎を与えるため,特許管理に関する調査研究も並行して行った.
