リクール、ナベール、レヴィナス、デリダ、アンリ等、20世紀中盤以降の現代フランスの哲学者たちが共通して関心を寄せる「証言」の概念に着目し、それをハイデガーが「証し」の概念に集約した思索の批判的継承という角度から連関づけることで、この概念の重要性を浮かび上がらせた。さらに、証言という術語に畳み込まれた宗教的含意に目を向けることで、彼らの証言論から現代の「宗教哲学」の可能性と問題性に関する原理的再考察への道筋をつけた。
