本研究は、エキスパートナースによる専門的なケアの実際に基づいた質的・量的データを分析することにより、特定の看護専門領域のスタンダード看護診断と看護介入を明らかにすることを目的とした。その主な成果を挙げると、1)脳血管障害患者の看護記録の分析により、入院から退院に至るまでの看護診断の実態が示唆された。2)糖尿病患者の看護診断として23の看護診断名が示唆された。3)老年看護領域では、排泄障害を伴う高齢者の看護診断と看護介入の特徴が示唆された。4)難病疾患看護領域では、15の看護診断が示唆された。5)ホスピスへ入院したがん患者4事例の看護記録の分析により、心理社会的・スピリチュアル看護診断よりも身体的看護診断を優先する傾向が示唆された。6)ホスピス緩和ケア病棟の全国実態調査において、NANDA分類の診断名の使用は62%で、10の高頻度使用の看護診断ラベルが示唆された。また、エキスパートナース13名による調査から、高頻度使用の看護診断個々の診断指標や関連因子及びリスク因子が示唆された。
