今日のカンボジアを中心として西暦7世紀を中心として隆盛を極めたプレアンコール期の首都イーシャナプラ(現在のサンボー・プレイ・クック遺跡)の古代都市と寺院に関する研究を行った。多数の寺院の他に水路や環壕,土手,古道といった土木的な痕跡が残されている古代都市の全体像を明らかにするとともに,遺跡群内で最大規模の寺院の歴史的な変遷の過程を考古学的な発掘調査により解明した。

The research on ancient urban temples is carried out in the center of today's city and the center of the seventh century. Most of the temple's other waterways, trenches, ancient roads and civil traces remain in the ancient city, and the historical process of the largest temple in the ruins group is explored and explained.
