今年度は、前年度に引き続き、エマニュエル・レヴィナスを中心とした戦後現象学における政治の問題という研究課題のうち、主として1)その主著『全体性と無限』における「政治」の問題、2)レヴィナスの思想が形成される時代的背景との関連、3)同時期の思想家との比較研究というテーマで研究を実施した。1)については、『全体性と無限』に明らかに見られる政治批判を支えるロジックが、「作品」概念に対するレヴィナスの解釈から浮き彫りになると思われ、この点を示すとともに、その後のレヴィナスの思想において「作品」概念に全く異なった評価が与えられていく経緯について、その概念的変更がいかなるものであったのかを示した。この作業によって、レヴィナスの政治観の中期と後期との乖離について、明白な見通しを得ることができた。2)については、レヴィナスの時代的コンテキスト、中でも「アウシュヴィッツ」/「ショアー」をレヴィナスがどのように引き受けたのかを検討した。とくに本研究は、レヴィナス自身が「ショアー」から学ぶべき点の最も重要な点として「内面的生」の復権を掲げていることに注目した。この語に注目してレヴィナスのテキストを時代ごとに検討していくと、レヴィナス自身の態度には注目すべき変遷が見られる。本研究はこの変遷を丹念に追うことで、いかにしてレヴィナスにおいて「内面的生」の問題が重要であったのか、またそれはどのようなかたちで「ショアー」への応答となっていたのかを示した。3)については、中でもレヴィナスと同年に生まれた思想家ハンナ・アレントに注目した。一見した差異にもかかわらず、両者の思想において多くの点で興味深い符号が見られると思われた。本研究は中でも、両者の主著、『全体性と無限』ならびに『人間巨条件』がともに着目している「はじまり」の概念に注目し、この概念を起点に両者の差異と近さを検討した。
