This study explored the major role played by career design guidebooks published in Japan before WWII in canalizing career planning for young adults. These individuals expressed their way of life and future planning in the light of the realities of life through understanding their self identity and life cycles as well as their external environment such as family, school, and workplace.Analyses of the seven journals confirmed that they were a practical tool for building an effective, focused development plan at every stage such as designing to assist individuals in identifying some significant personal preferences. The guides highlighted self-awareness while providing access to the most current occupational information available.The significance of this study is twofold. First this research attempted to address a gap in Japanese education literature by looking at hitherto unknown career design guidebooks, and analyzed the interactions between personal preferences and the specific career development and life options that align them. The second major contributions of this study was that it added to the sparse research on career planning models provided by the informal education system.

本研究探讨了二战前日本出版的职业生涯设计指南在引导年轻人职业生涯规划方面所发挥的重要作用。这些人通过了解自己的身份和生命周期以及家庭、学校和工作场所等外部环境，根据生活现实表达自己的生活方式和未来规划。对七种期刊的分析证实，它们是建立有效的，在每个阶段都有一个有针对性的发展计划，例如设计以帮助个人确定一些重要的个人偏好。这些指南强调自我意识，同时提供最新的职业信息。首先，本研究试图解决日本教育文献中的空白，通过看迄今为止未知的职业生涯设计指南，并分析个人偏好和具体的职业发展和生活选择，使他们对齐之间的相互作用。这项研究的第二个主要贡献是，它补充了非正规教育系统提供的关于职业规划模式的稀疏研究。
