航空機のジェット騒音や自動車の排気音など交通輸送機関の高速化に伴って生ずる騒音の多くは流体力学的な原因に基づく音(流体音)である。本研究課題では、高次精度(空間8次精度、時間4次精度)の差分スキームを用いることにより、流体の運動を支配する方程式、即ち圧縮性ナビエ・ストークスの式を精度良く解くことにより、渦運動が中心的役割を果たしている流れ場に生ずる流体騒音の発生機構を明らかにし、その制御方法を提案することができた。
