現在までに照明条件に影響を受けるという欠点を回避するために人の目には感じない近赤外光を照射し利用する方法が提案されシステムが作られてきた。しかしながら近赤外では肌色を用いた人物検出ができないため、色を用いるという利点が生かせず膨大な計算時間を必要としてきた。そこで本研究では、「肌色」の代りに「素材としての肌」を複数の近赤外光を用いて直接抽出するシステムを実現するため、近赤外発光源IR-LEDと近赤外領域をセンシングするCCDカメラの組み合わせによって人の肌を高速で検出する人感センサの開発を行った。
