慢性閉塞性肺疾患(COPD)患者に対して、低強度運動と栄養療法を同時に行ないその効果を検討することを目的とした。COPD患者で、ストレッチ、椅子体操、呼吸筋・上下肢筋力トレーニング、歩行などの低強度運動療法と栄養補給療法を3ヵ月間行なった。その結果、呼吸困難の軽減、運動持久力の増加、健康関連QOLおよびADL向上、血液中の炎症マーカーの低下がみられた。以上、COPDにおける低強度運動療法と栄養療法を併用した包括的呼吸リハビリテーションの有用性が示唆された。
