Democratic-nationalism (Kokuminshugi, as defined by Masao Maruyama) is a political concept since the ancient times which pursuits individual liberty and strong national unity simultaneously, believing that the former could be the basis of the latter, and that the latter could encourage the political awakening of the people. This research has compared the political thoughts of Machiavelli, Hegel and Weber, and reinterpreted them within the background of the history of democratic-nationalism in Europe

民主民族主义（Maruyama Masao定义为Kokuminshugi）是一个自古以来的政治概念，它同时追求个人自由和强大的民族团结，认为前者可以成为后者的基础，后者可以鼓励人民的政治觉醒。本研究比较了马基雅维利、黑格尔和韦伯的政治思想，并在欧洲民主民族主义的历史背景下对其进行了重新解读
