放出可溶化LR11を用いた内膜SMCsの病的形質変換の修飾を解明し内膜平滑筋細胞バイオマーカーとしての臨床的意義を探索した。内膜平滑筋遺伝子LR11機能を修飾することにより動脈硬化巣を変化させた。血中可溶型LR11濃度が従来の動脈硬化危険因子とは独立した動脈硬化マーカーであった。可溶型LR11の血中濃度は動脈硬化症における新規の血管傷害バイオマーカーとなると考えられる。
