生活習慣病に関連する新規生理活性ペプチドの探索と機能解析を目的として、生活習慣病に関わる組織で発現しているオーファン受容体の安定発現細胞株を作製するとともに、リガンドの探索ための新たな方法の開発を行い、新規生活習慣病関連ペプチドの探索を進めた。また、摂食促進ペプチド;グレリンの消化管における分泌調節と機能解析、グレリン受容体の発現調節機構を明らかにした。さらに、新規神経ペプチド;ニューロメジンS の神経内分泌的調節作用について明らかにした。
