癌治療における放射線療法・化学療法へ期待は極めて大きい。本研究ではRegenerating gene(REG)Iが放射線療法・化学療法感受性マ-カ-となり得るか、またREGI を用いた感受性獲得が可能かを検討とした。食道扁平上皮癌培養細胞を用いた研究で、REG Iαおよびβ遺伝子は放射線療法・化学療法感受性マ-カ-であった。またREG I を遺伝子導入させることによって放射線・抗がん剤の感受性を獲得した。
